McCormick MTX200 Snap Dragon!
This beasty looking machine snapped in half recently whilst ploughing with a 5 furrow reversible. It broke at the flywheel housing and spat out it's gut's. Sadly I did not see the crippled machine or I would have got some photo's. Nice machine to look at though!!!:-)

This still has the same transmission as the maxxum's hasn't it?
the biggest maxxum had something like 140 hp, and it wasn't to reliable then to:-\

Re: McCormick MTX200 Snap Dragon!
Hi Gerbert, I think you are correct. This one has had oil leaks, transmission problems and a few electrical faults. Then of course it snapped in half! Hopefully it will be replaced with JD7820 or similar. Regards, Jon DD.

Re: McCormick MTX200 Snap Dragon!
The strongest maxxum was the MX170 so meaning 170 hp. I do know that some of those put out the same as this one does, and also ended as a wreck. This caused by the u-joint at the front axle letting loose and at high speed falling on the pavement and digging in the transmission as a result.

Re: McCormick MTX200 Snap Dragon!
I thought it had the same tranny as the MX(made in England)? The 5000 series of Maxxum had another tranny(German made). I know a couple of the first maxxums who got to 13000 hours without big problems:-)

Re: McCormick MTX200 Snap Dragon!
schizo, maxxums with 10.000 hours and a tranny without repairs is just as rare as a JD powrquad that has been repaired at that hours:-P:-D
They could have spare themselves a lot of problems by just buying a zf like in a fendt 500 series
