Drilling "Saia" spring oats, Tunbridge, Tasmania July 2007. Sorry for the quality of this shot.

Direct drilling into sprayed off cereal stubble.

Re: Spring Oats
A new model John Deere (not sure which model but the operator told me it is about 180 hp) pulling an RFM 24ft wide airseeder, drilling the oats.

Re: Spring Oats
The seeder heading in the opposite direction, looking from behind.

It has a rolling press harrow behind instead of harrows.

Looking towards the front of the seeder.

Re: Spring Oats
Another drilling shot. Fair bit of low cloud in the background, was a funny sort of day. A rough hill in the background too; just used for sheep grazing.

The last shot from drilling, a bit too much light in this one too, sorry.

Another in the same paddock.

I will keep posting some photos from these oat crops, as the season progresses ;-)

Re: Spring Oats
Speedstar, these oats crops are in a drought affected area so no doubt every bit of wildlife in the vicinity will be liking the look of them for some food :-P

The white cockatoos were eating them as they came up, so it would be fair to say there might be some kangaroos (& probably possums too) about in that area sometime soon.

The only ways to solve this problem are shooting them or poisoning unfortunately.

Regards,

TC ;-)
