Re: Monarch & plum flowers
Thanks Flavio!
I'll keep trying to find other picures to uplaod here that
are different from my web site pictures.
This is a nice site. I live in a part of Hawaii where farms
are on a steep mountain so no one can use a tractor or much
farm machinery at all. We do have alot of jaboticaba though.
It's one of my favorite fruits.
Take care

Re: Monarch & plum flowers
I guess this doesn't fit the category but it does seem to
suit the thread. A butterfly on a wheat head. Taken in
Bavaria, Germany, June 2003.

I have always enjoyed your photos Flavio. You have a good
eye for an "amateur". I was also excited to see your work
Ken as you clearly know what you are doing.

I look forward to seeing more from you both. Hopefully the
rest of us will pick up some tips on taking better photos...

best,

Stu

Re: Monarch & plum flowers
Thanks Stu,
I confess to having had some practice. Took pictures for Ap
and newspapers for 30 years. Started when I was 14 having
lied about my age. Was already 6'4" so that was not a
problem. I also taught photography for 15 years at a college
in Chicago. Would be glad to answer questions from
Farmphoto members as long as I dont get too swamped.

Mathieu,
What type of digital will you buy?
I look forward to seeing your pictures of crops in Holland.
I've a good friend in Zoetermeer but we always seem to meet
in Tokyo and I've not been to NL in about 15 years.

Re: Monarch & plum flowers
Hi, I love all you alls pictures. They are great, I am so
glad you joint farmphoto.com. I had a long absence from
farmphoto, since our computer got hit by lightning and it
took us, it seemed forever, to get a new one. So it's great
to see new and more pictures of my interests here. Thanks
for all your amazing photographs of plants and fruits and
insects. :-D
And here is my picture of a monarch on a zinnia in my flower
garden. (August 2001) This was the first monarch I've seen
in real life and I had no clue on how big they really are. I
was quite surprised.
