Re: Combine Combat
There used to be a Claas Lexion game on their website too Schizo, you had to harvest the wheat, avoid obstacles such as rocks & deer & unload when a trailer came up along side.

Was pretty cool ;-)

Re: Combine Combat
i forgot the name, it's french, simfarm or something, everything is 3d. you are sitting in the cab, and have a button for every control option in the combine....

Re: Combine Combat
Ok, I think I have seen that, wasnt overly impressed with it actually. I think you had to purchase extras, the demo model was pretty basic, from memory.

Re: Combine Combat
That game was called Sim Tractor, they're still inventing newer and better versions of the original game with even a multiplayer option.

By the way I'm now writing this in Australia :-D

Re: Combine Combat
You have finally come to your senses & migrated.......:-D

No seriously, I remember you saying a while back that you were coming out to Aus to do some work experience, in (from memory) Queensland. Hope you are enjoying Australia ;-)

Sim tractor it could have been, I downloaded a free demo once & found it dissapointing but that was only my honest opinion.

Cheers,

TC ;-)

Re: Combine Combat
Nearly 3 months combining is testing enough without playing games about it . And why are they always green stripers ,My son has all kinds of these games and it's always JD . I guess NH and IH are busy making good combines and don't have to make games to make money , And if there was a lexion in there you would have to include a " Fixing breakdowns" feature :-D

LOL! The farmer were I'm staying right now told me the same about the Claas headers... a time ago here in Queensland and NSW there were some Claas combines, but they did break down so much that a truck from Claas germany came to constantly follow the Claas' while harvesting. Becoming parts takes weeks because everything needs to be shipped from out Germany...

Tas: I'm writing this while I am in Toowoomba QLD but I work on farms between Gundiwindi and Moree... The farm were we build some American imported 1000 ton grain silo's is called ' Beefwood' and it is on the road to Moree..
We sleep in antoher farm somewere in the middle of nowhere and it's called Careunga so maybe your know the area a little bit.

Re: Combine Combat
I know of the Moree area, alot of cotton (among other things) is grown around there.

Goondiwindi is the birth place of a famous Aussie race horse called Gunsynd, known as the "Goondiwindi Grey".

No doubt you will see some mind boggling sights out in that country, big acres, places as far as the eye can see, a little different in size & scale to what you are used to at home,

Cheers,

TC ;-)

Re: Combine Combat
Yes indeed, the fields are as big as the eyes can see and I've also seen the cottonpickers atthe dealer around Goondiwindi.
I think you've allready heard of the ' horse flu' that's now in this area? The horse race tracks are closed now and stuff... It's big news here.

The farmer I am working owns a New Holland CR970 header with a Midwest front of 12,7 metres wide. He is harvesting Barley wheat and chickpea's (is that the good name?) but he can use some rain... The fields are very dry and if there's no rain comming he will have a very bad harvest.

Re: Combine Combat
Yes the horse flu has stopped Aus wide movement of horses, some places the ban has been lifted (such as Tas), allowing the horse race meetings to be held again, others it is still in force.

Yes I am sure you will see plenty of big gear, seeders, sprayers & combines or headers as we call them ;-)

Plenty of areas still need rain Aus wide including Tas Michiel, fingers crossed that everyone gets some really soon.
