I prepare with disks

Places where it is very humid or with water. It is normal to begin the preparation of the soil with some humidity or water in some parts. We are still at the end of the winter and the soil doesn't dry, and the ideal period for the planting of the rice is going from October 15 on November 15.

Re: I prepare with disks
Sorry Tony, my disks don't have wheels, this until he/she had but I removed, due to the land to be very sandy and humid disks with wheels is very heavy. If you see in the 4 #photo, will notice that in the chassis of the disk has a round tip back well in the middle, there it put a support for wheels, and it pulls the disk for transport in the traverse.

See an image in the manufacturer's site, below the manufacturer's logo he/she has a version in English, in her you can see other types of disks and products.

Re: I prepare with disks
No problem Luciano. Thank you for the answer.

I realized that's where the wheels are usually attached to.

Thank you for the link.

Is it comman to have equipment running 24 hours a day? Do you own this farm or just work on it? How big is it?

hi 9150man

In the phase of preparation of the soil it is comunm to work 24 hours, well actually they are 23 working hours and 1 hour for fuel and maintenance.
I cultivate 500 hectares (1250 acres) with rice and soybens. I just have medium and small tractors for this area. And I have few days for this work

My tractors
2 JD 7515 (140HP)
1 JD 6605 (121 HP)
1 JD 5700 (85 HP)

Re: I prepare with disks
Instead of having four small tractors, why dont you have one or two big tractors? Dont you think it will cut down on hired labour and increase your production?

Re: I prepare with disks
In fields of rice I have several works that they should be accomplished by smaller tractors, and you vary people to accomplish.

See in this link.
