andy21 476736 26 RAIN! either
YAY it rained last night wwe had 3mm :-\wich is our biggest rain scince late june-early july:-(. Wont do much for the dead crops:-[ but will lift spirits for a few hours while there is a slight hint of moisture on the surface;-).
well im off to go play in the mud while it lasts:-D.
dunno why i started this must be the ongoing drought sending me around the bend:-\:-\:-\;-)
3mm won't get you too far. Hopefully it is a sign of things to come....
Hey Andy, what does that stuff look like? It's been so long around here I think people have forgotten. More failed wheat crops going for silage, yesterday we were averaging 50 acres an hour till we started getting bits of wire everywhere and that was a reasonable crop. A good crop is going around 1 tonne dry matter to the acre. We have a 30 foot windrower doubling up the rows, he's travelling around 10 km/hr and we're travelling at 12 -15 km/hr doing half the trips so that's why we're not started for the day yet. :-\
We had 3mm here last night + 8 earlier in the week.

Has been drizzling on & off here this morning again. Dams are still low (runoff dams), elsewhere farmers are pumping out of rivers & streams into their dams. Some river irrigators have zero allocation this season, which will be devastating.

Feel sorry for those poor buggers on mainland Oz who have had 2-3 + years of drought & no crops. When we in Tas think things are bad, we only have to think of our collegues on the "big island" to realise we havent got it too bad compared to them.

TC ;-)
I know it is nearly a mockery when I present you the rain temperature diagram of my Davis VP2 weather station for this September. We had only rain, 50 mm in summery, cold temperatures with only 14 °C in the top over days, and all this during potato digging time :-\!

I wish you our rain!
Theo, that looks also a nice program you have :-)
we use a Huger station with the Free WX software.

thanks for the contributions fellas.
yes its dry here theo! as it was last year, and the one before that and the one before that. infact we have only had one year in the past 6 including this year that we have harvested an average crop. We hope its just a bad run!.
this year to date we have had 260 mm with a lot of summer rain to come from that.
last year we had 266mm for the year 100 fell during summer....totally useless! for us;-) well below average!
05 we had 350mm this was a slightly below avearge harvest.
04 -307mm poor yeilds
03- 350mm the only aveage one in the past 6 years yeilds varied from 2.5-4t/HA
02 was a devastating drought with 200mm for the year!
our country we farm is not the most reliable cropping ground but it always produces at worst seed for next year. slowly going insane farmer:-P
