Massey Ferguson 390T with kuhn fertilizer sower
nice tractor we use a 399 12/12
similar tractr but a bit larger about 115hp
how many has this got? 100hp i guess
thats right its 100hp
doesnt the 390t have a turbocharged perkins producing
93hp?have oyu tweeked yours?
we got a 390 but he's only 80hp. maybe an older type or so.
But a very nice tractor
my 398s have about 93hp, but ist an older version
sorry for my bad english
dus die 80 pk bij de van ons klopt wel. hij is volgens mij
uit iets van '93 of '94
As far as i know they are 100hp i could be wrong
The massey 390 was 82 hp, when it was launched, but alot
were fitted an after market turbo! By 1995 MF had come round
to they idea and they factory fitted turbo's and called it
390T, it was rated at 93hp, They are a powerfull little
we also drive a 390 but it`s not my favourite....we had it
broke for several times but its nice tractor to drive.
i saw that yours is a loprofile we`ve got a hiline+, that is
i think the most luxourse cab??
sorry for the bad english.......
even verder in het nederlands....:-P
knapt dus nogal snel....

390T is a very good tractor with great potencial. they still
run pretty dam well here in portugal:-)
take care, andre
Does any one knows if the lift capacity in MF 390 and 390T
are the same??
please post the information... I couldn´t find any thing
about it :-\
take care, andre
Since the 390T is basically a 390 fitted with an add-on
turbocharger, it has the same lift capcity of 3060kg. The
bigger 398 and 399 have more lifting power, (3700kg) but
they also have stronger rear axles.
tank you for repling my post, i have been most dificult to
find information about this model there are a few web pages
but their not allwais complete whit info...
if you know any page that has 390T specs please point in
i went to www.tractordata.com and a MF site in brazil
because i think that a model sold there (MF290)is very a
like 390 and 390T, am i correct??:-\
take care, drive safe.
Nice to hear you found my information usefull:-)Hmm.. I
think the 290 and 390 have many same components, afterall
the earlier model of 390 was also called 290 here in europe.
The 290 was in many ways the same as the earlier
165,168,175... models, and a little bit cheaper version of
the 500-series. But I'm afraid the technical data might
still be quite different from the 390. But don't worry I
know just the site where you can find info on the 390 and on
other tractor models too:-)
This is a very good site made by a finnish guy. Don't be
scared when you first see finnish, because the technical
data is in english too:-) Just take:
It doesn't have the data on the 390T because it wasn't
really a factory model, but as you know the only difference
is the engine horsepower level.
Thank you once more for sharing these information whit me.
i´m seeing konedata right now and it´s simply Great(!!)whit
a lot of photos just it should be :-)
what do you mean 390T wasn't really a factory model? i know
some people who own one and they bought it just like that, i
think...:-\ cold you tell me more about it? :-)
next week i will trie to post some pictures of a parade here
in my vilage every four years. usually the party is more
red, MF red... let´s see this time :-)
thake care, drive safe
390T is a factory job 93HP Perkins 236 Turbo Engine.
Hi Andre and Paul!
You are both right, about 390T being a factory model.
Unfortunately 390T wasn't sold here in Finland:-( Instead
they sold 390 turbos here, it was a 390 with a turbo
installed by the dealer. I guess dealers in may countries
did this before the 390T.
The 390T came later (in the 90's) than the other models. As
someone in this thread said, many 390's were fitted with an
aftremarket turbo, I guess MF saw this and started
installing them already at the factory. But Paul said that
the 390T had an AT4.236 engine. They must have changed it,
because the 390 had an A4.248 engine, it must be because the
T4.236 blocks are better suited for turbocharging. But i
think the rest of the tractor was not changed.
The 398 was sold in here, and it had about the same HP as
the 390T, but it was a litte bit biger tractor with ie.
bigger clutch and rear axle. I agree that the 390T give a
lot of power in a small package, and they are very durable
also because of their strong basic technology:-)
And Andre please post those pictures of your parade, it as
always a pleassure to se MF tractors!:-D And I'm glad you
found konedata.net useful:-) The thanks goes to Timo Nurmela
who has made these pages in his freetime(!). So if you want
to, you can send him e-mail, and hopefully he will keep
developing this site:-)
Hi. My grandad is a retired farmer named Mr. N Scholey from Town End Farm, Wortley, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK and he had 2 MF 390s. One a Turbo and the other with a loader and he had a farm sale about 8/9yrs ago. i just wondered if anyone had any info. or if they could remember buying anything as most of his tractors went to Ireland. Many KInd Regards, Will Green (firstname.lastname@example.org)
This post is a couple of years old Will, so you may not get a reply ;-)
