Figs
My new project is to test what type of figs would be good for Hawaii.
Last week I tested 126 different figs at the USDA orchard in California.
I ate all of them!!!!

Do you have a favorite type of fig in your country? Let me know

Re: Figs
Hi Rui
Portugal used to be the biggst fig producing country 10 years ago but dropped to 6th or 7th place I think. Still they have some of the best figs in the world. One of my favorites is maderia.

Re: Figs
I've yet to meet a fig I didn't like Ken ;-)

I couldn't tell you about the variety however. Most of those that I've had have just been off back yard trees that are fairly common around here...

Re: Figs
I was ok Gregg but it took a few days before I could eat more of them!
The day before the figs I ate 18 different peaches and a few pears. In Hawaii its very rare we get a decent peach but never get a good one. While working in Calif. the farmers market had great fruit. Not like the commercial junk shipped here.
