RDO Farms Potato harvest
RDO Farms is the company that has the contract with McDonalds to grow all their potatos. They also own many dealerships (RDO Equipment). Here is one field they were harvesting from. There were probably 4 or 5 harvestors in the field.

Another of the semi and truck loading station they have setup in the field. One thing I should mention is there is a strong oder that comes with harvesting potatos. Words cannot describe the oder and it is something that just sends chills up and down your spine (it did for me at least).

erick as far as I saw in the photos, they own JD 8030 and one Case IH tractors. Do you know what tractor models they have?

Victor, RDO Inc. owns about 60 John Deere dealerships in a dozen or so states, and many farms all over the midwest and northwest. Why they have the CaseIH I don't have a clue.

As to the McLaren thing, it is about Ferrari being the whiney little bitch in F1 and McLaren being fined heavily when there is no proof that McLaren engineers saw or used any of Ferrari's designs.

Re: RDO Farms Potato harvest
I dont know what the odour could be. Here the smell of freshly dug soil & potatoes is quite nice. If they have been in wet soil, there might be a bad odour (anaerobic bacteria have used up the oxygen in the ground, leaving that rotten smell).

Other than that, maybe it is a fertilizer or fungicide issue, or possibly some sort of fungal disease in the potatoes?

Interesting photos, would have been good to see some closer up shots of individual machines ;-)

Regards,

TC ;-)
