Re: Pré-germinated rice

The farmers use for this work older tractors, tractors that you/they don't have components electronic, little electric, tractors 4X2. Simpler tractors and of low maintenance cost. Because the water penetrates in box of marches, reduction final, hydraulic, etc...

Re: Pré-germinated rice

Because to use this planting system?
Because in spite of a higher maintenance cost, he/she also has a larger productivity, they get to plant ideal at that time. In planting soils in the dry soil after the rains of the last days, the works are stopped, and in this system the works with soil preparation don't stop, this is one of the main advantages.
And it also controls a type of rice that is born spontaneous that we called "red rice", this rice doesn't have commercial value and it harms the quality of the normal rice.

Re: Pré-germinated rice
Luciano,

Thank you for the information. This is something I do not get to see here in the MidWest USA. What work was the Ford doing? I do not see any implements on it. Is it broadcasting the rice seed?

Looks like a fun muddy job. My son would love it. \:D/

What part of Brazil are you in?

Thanks,

Laverne

Laverne, the tractor Ford is burying the straw of the rice of the previous year. The great wheels of iron, calls of "wheels cage", make this work. It is a soil preparation that you/they do with the flooded land, later they will sow the rice, equal as in Alexis' photos in Greece.
I live in the south of the country
