BLUEPAINT 491501 26 HP/acre either
Got this idea off a "statistics" website ."How efficient is your farm" It was a promotional thing for biofuel comparing farming in different countries .
Add yor total "HP" of all your diesel engines on your farm and divide by your acres .
If any-ones interested i got?
10 tractors = 1391hp
2 trucks = 630hp
2 combines =540hp
Dozer and backhoe = 240hp........Maybe 400hp next week?
Total =2801 hp / 1386 acres = 2.02hp/acre
I edited this to be more precise ?
So, do you count every diesel engine such as farm vehicles as well? What about irrigation pumps (here alot of guys use diesel powered pumps)?
Interesting, this I would like to know on other countries, comparing with other countries that I see in FarmPhoto, leaning that here in Brazil we have an overload of the tractors. Here it is going my cooperation.
I have some motors that use just for irrigation, then I will put separate.
Plantation - 536 HP / 1250 acres = 0,42 hp/acre ( 1,07 hp / hectare)
Harvest - 300 HP / 1250 = 0,24 hp/acre ( 0,6 hp / hectare)
Irrigation - 210 HP / 800 acres = 0,26 hp/acre ( 0,65 hp / hectare)
We have 595 hp (DIN) to 435 acres (175 ha). That makes 1,36 hp/acre or 3,4 hp/ha. If we hadn't been contractor we probably not had more than 3 tractors with total 350 hp. That's better figures but not like some big farms with only cereals that will have under 1 hp/ha excluding the combine!
Intresting..we have about 560 ha and total 1621 hp that gives 2,89 hp/ha or 1,164 hp/acre including combines if you exclude the combines it will be around 1,8 hp/ha :-)
1240 hp to 840 acres, 1.47 hp/acre.
Tractors 410 hp
Combine 430 hp
Truck 400 hp
John Deere 4755 190hp
Case MXU 135 135hp
Fiat 1000 92hp
Fiat 766 75hp
Fiat 600 + 60hp
Well i have 552hp in 120ha(300 acres) so we do 4,6hp/ha or 1.64hp/acre but i don't want to count the Fiat1000 (92hp) on this calculations because it's very old and i use it only on some fertilizer delivery works or on some secondary jobs in the farmyard a total of 70-80hrs/year.
So if i don't count this one i have total 460hp who it gives 3,83hp/ha or 1,53hp/acre
My friend at Perth who has a mixed operation has the following;
Tractors; 221 HP.
Truck; 135 HP.
TOTAL; 356 HP.
Farm area = 3533.53 Acres.
Therefore = 0.1007491 HP per acre.
