I have heard of 5 cuts with lucerne (alfalfa) but not grass. Mostly we only get one cut here, occasionally two in wet years (cant remember what they are like at the moment though :-[

We don't irrigate, we more often get to much rain. we have just had a good season, 4 crops is most normal for us tho 5 isn't uncommon.
