Re: DT 180
You start to see more of them here since they do have a vario transmission in them. This particular model does not have that. It's got a Cummin's up front and powershift in the back. The new once also known as the A series have a Sisu engine and simplified Fendt transmission, so essentially the same as the Massey.

Any pictures of the A series? Does the DT180 has a Funk gearbox as the MF 8200?

I thought the 8200 series had GIMA boxes??

Re: DT 180
here is a picture of a DT240A. The A is not very visible but is in red behind the 0. The older series were pretty much the 8200 series Massey with a Cummin's power plant. I don't know where they source the powershift transmission, I do know that the 32 speed is sourced from Gima, a jointly owned plant with now Claas. This used to be Renault.

Yea, I guess Transportation Canada had it removed in... I forget what year, but that's what one of the owner's wives told me anyhow.

(Owned by Brian & David Williams, my dad used to be friends with Brian in their past lives. :-D )

They didn't have much there... I guess the Lacombe location is the big one, but I haven't been there. The Westlock location (mine) is pretty decent though.

Were the big 4x4 balers still there? (used)

Williambos, Franke
8200 powershift is Funk but the smaller one came optionally with dynashift I guess they are from Gima.
Are the "A series" Agco cvt or powershift?

Not too sure on the whole story, just know that back when they were both younger, just out of high school from what I understand, they were both involved in a van club --- they toured around with their vans/campers on various holidays. They recently had a re-union in September I think.

I've only met Brian & his wife on the one occasion, and that was at a BBQ in Westlock when they were unveiling the new (Fendt) 900s to their customers this July(you saw my pictures I think).

I've dealt with David a few times though, after I rolled the baler and then on some service calls during silage.

Re: DT 180
the A series are the same as the Dyna VT's. So this is the Fendt Vario. Massey's were always sold as Dyna-Steps here. Same box, just 21 speeds programmed into it. Now they also sell them as the Vario

Re: DT 180
Just a little add on. Funk is now owned by Deere. They used to be in a joint venture with Ford. At that time the tranny for the Ford 30 series was designed. This was the first electronically controlled powershift. So really AGCO and Deere, and now Buhler are using a Ford tranny in their tractors. Yes the 18 speed powershift in the 8000 series Deere's is basically a Ford box.

Re: DT 180
well, its not the same box,but design.
the Bühler (former Genesis) for sure has the Ford tranny but not the others.

Re: DT 180
If you look careful you can se "FUNK MANUFACTURING COMPANY" the plate is from a MF 8240 powershift.

Re: DT 180
This picture is a an A series DT 180 with the Fendt transmission. You can tell by the restyled rear fenders, the beacon on top of the cab, and if you look you can see a sticker on the left door at the bottom for the Powermaxx CVT transmission. Also, if you look very closely you can just make out a little orange "A" right behind the 180 on the hood.

So this one doesn't have the Cummins but has the Sisu. The first Cummins equipped non A series didn't have these. They were identical to the Whites that they replaced except for the orange color obviously.
