Plowing cornfield 2007
Today we plowed the cornfield with the JD 4230 and the Kverneland plow. After I looked after the tractor last week, and put new fuel injectors in, this old lady feels like young again....:-D

Re: Plowing cornfield 2007
This particulair field needs more tiling, by plowing the field in the fall the field dries up better in the spring. Plowing results also in better yields, which will pay for the plowing itself.
I can see that big cashcrop farms simply can't plow all their fields every year. For us cashcrop is a minor activity....

I see you use a Kverneland-plow and a JD. With which machine you did harvest the cornfield?

Re: Plowing cornfield 2007
We use a disc ripper which also helps the ground a considerable amount. We used it on the feild we cut silage in and it made the ground really soft after the trucks ran over the ground so many times. It also helps in wet spots so water sokes in. We do most of our corn feilds expect the ones we run cows on. It really does work good. If we get it hooked up this weekend I'll post some pictures of it.
