that is a really neat looking machine, i have never seen one like that before, but then again, we dont grow sugarcane up here either

I agrre with the others - welcome to FP and nice pictures.

Are you growing sugar cane in other US states than Florida? I thought this was more in south america and Cuba.

wich part of the plant is used for sugar?
i've looked to some other movies to, and i wonder what the difference between the JD and the "2 fase system"?

Thanks everybody, these pictures were taken in south Louisiana which is mostly sugar cane country. The sugar is in the actual stalk of the cane. If anyone is interested in the process of making sugar, I posted alot of other vids on you tube.

Thank you Al, for sharing this. I've never seen before a sugarcane-harvester. In our country we harvest a lot of sugarbeet, sugarcane doesn't grow here. And because of the worldmarket of sugar, Europe has decided that we must cut down on the sugarbeet. Does sugarbeets grow in your region or only sugarcane?

Nope, no sugarbeets around this part of the country. I think they just grow the beets further north.
