Coldfusion, very nice photo and video! how many times a year do you cut sorghum? How many hectares do you harvest?

We cut sorghum one of a year (dry continental climate), we harvest 70-80 hectares. We first cut maize for silage. ;-)

when you get forage sorghum this tall how do you keep it from going down? I think the slightest rain or wind would level the field making harvest difficult if not impossible

The sorghum forage is very simple because the plant don't lean on the field (like corn = corn beetle) :-).
The weather isn't interesting, the sorghum roots is very aggressive so can pick up the nutrient and don't lean on the field. We harvest 60t sorghum at last year from this field, but the weather of hungary is very unfavourable for plant cultivation. I think if the weather is fortunate the average crop to approache 80-100t.
