John Deere 4430
Our 1977 4430. I took her to "tractor day" at school in
February. Despite being colder than hell, she fired right
up at the end of the day without ether. We pull a 12/23
Kinze planter with her. She's been overhauled once, never
touched the transmission. 1400 hours on the old gal. She
has the original paint, and dad bought the tractor brand
new. The muffler fell apart so we put a straight pipe on
her. She sounds good.

Re: John Deere 4430
That's cool, I grew up in rural East Central Missouri. We
also had a "tractor day" at school, of course that was 20
years ago. I drove our 5288 15 miles to school that day. A
lot of fun, there were tractors everywhere. It's great to
hear that there are still schools doing that!

Re: John Deere 4430
Nice 4430. In the Fall of 1973 my uncle got a new 4430 and
a new 5-18' John Deere plow. I got to put the first hours
on that tractor plowing. I will never forget that. What a
nice machine.
