rickylh3 57528 26 Duals either
I have always wondered why European tractors usually don't
have duals tires on them. Is it just preferance or is there
some sort of law limiting width? Here in West Tennessee few
people don't run duals, so its strange to see large tractors
with singles. :-)
And I always wondered wy Americans use those huge 2wd
The law in germany says every vehicle muist not be wider
than 2,55 meters (8,3feet). But there´s an exception for
farm vehicles which are allowed to be 3meters (9,8feet)wide
2,75 meters you´ll need special warning signs on you´re
Anyhow the streets here are quite narrow and farmers have to
do a lot of transport work with their tractors because farms
are to small to afford trucks.
To get to some of our fields I have to go through
residential areas and I could hardly get through some of the
streets with duals on and there are always some people
stopping you and telling you not to drive to their streets
because the street is getting dirty:-(
I think in the US farmers have been a little slower to
accept mwfd. One thing is there is a large differance in
price. Here where i live cotton is king and due to the row
confiurations 2wds are much more mobile and easier to turn
at the end row. The new mfwds are becoming more and more
popular. This is due largely to improvements in turning
radius. We have had two mfwds over the years. I think the
first was one of the first in the area. Now we have a JD
4555 MFDW without duals.
Thanks for the info. :-)
Plz excuse me for my bad englisch!
I think that the price and condition of the ground also a
factor for duals or FWA.
In my nyborghood is treenursering the way of living, and
every inch must be plant.
I have for myself A Case 1290 2Wd, A IH-Case 895Xl and A
Itma 453m track-type tractor.
The Case 2wd tracktors can i use duals, for groudbreaking
and seeding manure.
The IH-Case is used for planting, weeding, spraying, and
harvest the trees, The Itma also, for the bigger trees.
I think the duals in US are nessasery for the high
horsepowered tractors to put the horses on the ground.
A lot of people over use flotation tires like 710's 800's or
900's on the back instead of duals
