hey ryan nice picture i love to see the sts in action..
heyhave you seen the new 60 series combines yet.. i got
myemail from john deere when the first told me about it.. if
you want email me at and i willbe
glad to send you the page
Re: Wheat Harvest
Yes I have seen the 60 series, as I am looking at possibly
getting one myself just the 9560 sts though.. There is not
alot different of the 60 series just more operator comfort
controls, and more hp which is a good thing
Re: Wheat Harvest
i think that the 50 series are better than the 60 series
formany reasons but i figured deere would bring out a
newcombine line knowing that the 50 series wasnt out no
longerthan 3 yrs ago deere isnt fooling me there are trying
to goagainst the new 8010 afx machine but still i'm glad to
seethey made the right move if i had a choice i would have
29650sts 2 9750sts 1 9760sts and 1 9860sts to me deere is
thebest in the world i use to like i still do but whenyou
has acousin that works for john deere and he tell yos
everythingwrong with gleaner and you see it with your own
eyes wellits true....nothing runs like a deere solid stable
stilljohn deere...i hope john deere dosnet get bought out
buyanother company thats why i like them so much have......
asafe harvest

Re: Wheat Harvest
So what did your cousin say is wrong with Gleaners? I've
worked on them and been around them abit and there's not a
thing wrong with them. You can bale behind a Gleaner Rotary
but not a Deere rotary. So what's wrong with a Gleaner? I've
ran both and Gleaners are much nice to run. Just wondering
what he told ya.

Take care.
Re: Wheat Harvest
AGCOFAN I hate to break it too you but you can bale behind
an STS. In fact alot of guys like it better then a gleaner
and a case because the windrow isn't a 25 foot cut for
example into a 1 foot row. Therefore if it does get rain on
the windrow the STS windrow doesn't get compacted like
cement like the gleaner and case machines.. But I do have to
agree with you on the Gleaner there a good machine but not
made to be driven 24hrs a day like the STS. I have an unlce
that has a R62 and he has more problems with break downs
then what I have with my STS and I run alot more hours then
what he does.
Re: Wheat Harvest
So how come everyone said you couldn't bale behind an STS?
Oh well. Ya I can say the same thing about JD combine, and
people can say the same with Case and NH combines. You'll
find alot of lemons with every combine make out there. Down
in Kent County this summer during wheat, JD was replacing
wobble boxes on their new heads on the demo combines
everyday. But i'll admit, if the operator knows how his
combine works and knows it well, you can get good grain
quality out of any combine.

Take care
