County 1884
This tractor was working at the Devon County event.

Originally this 1884 was believed to have been County`s own
demo tractor.

Has anyone else got any photos from Saturday`s event?

Re: County 1884
You`re right, top day or what!

I was even given the chance to have ago on that, and it
should be on the video to prove it.

Devon and those steep fields was the right place to hold
such an event. Those County`s really looked at home on the
banks.
The 350 mile journey for me was well worth it.

Re: County 1884
Do these counties still have that weird driveshaft system,
driven from both rear halfaxles ??
That nose seems long.. Did they put the motor forward to
make room for a central diff housing where normally a clutch
housing is placed ??

Weird driveshaft system???? Is "unique" not a better word
to describe it?
As for the long nose, that`s where the fuel tanks are at,
and there`s no centeral diff.

Jim,

How many 1884s' were at the 'do'?

By my reckoning its 4 as follows....

1 x 'B' plate with Mole plough
1 x with Kv. Plough
1 x 'W' plate with Dowdeswell 6 f Rev.
1 x with Dowdeswell 5 f sring trip Rev.

Did you take anything along or were you like me, spectating?

Re: County 1884
Jim, what's the word on next year's event? Wonder if Nick
and his team could set up a bit of a tractor-pulling event
for the Saturday evening, right be side the beer tent :-)
