Took this photo of one of our cows and her calf. The cow is
half holstein and half Charlois.

is it usual at your region to mix holstein and charlois?

I havn't heard about this.

It is not to common for this cross. A dairy farm bought a
bred holstein heifer and the calf was this cross, so the
farmer kept the calf and then bred her to a Charlois again
and this is the calf you see. The cow is on her second calf
which we bred back to a black beef bull. She is a very nice
cow and easy to handle. I was a little afraid that she would
have a temperment. Dave
