Some people predict the winter by looking spilting open the
seed and seeing if it has a spoon or fork design Rumor has
it if the seed show a spoon lots of snow this winter, if a
fork then a milder winter is in store. Have you checked on
Hate to break it to you but they are not persimmons,
they are loquat. Actually they look like the gold nugget
variety. persimmons are orange to red and much larger.
the loquat will go from yellow to a light orange.
Note the difference in the leaves too. Actually loquat leaf
tea is very nice and has been used in china for 5000+ years.
I spent 6 years working with then in asia so I get
alittle carried away about loquat which is parhaps one of
the most popular fruit in the world -- except the US.

I'll vouch for loquats. They are a great fruit. Growing up
we had a two trees in the back yard. Can't say I've seen one
in Georgia. Maybe in Florida...
