Re: MF3085 + 6140
looks like a good setup you have going there Alan, i supose
you were driving the 3085 becasue i can remember in a last
post of yours that your a regular driver of the 3085
Re: MF3085 + 6140
Nah i wasnt i would be no use driving the harvester.
Hopefully get more pictures tomorrow. That 3085 is 120hp
Re: MF3085 + 6140
was you driving the 6140, i supose it was doing the carting
Re: MF3085 + 6140
na sorry lads unless u have had a new replacement for that
3085 it aint 120hp it is around 86.9 hp at the crank and 76
at the PTO for example the 3095 is 96 hp a 120 hp machine
of that age would have to be a 3120 or similar machine like
3635. And that aint a 6140 which is 90hp, massey did not
introduce the sloped bonnet onto their 6100 seies trators,
it looks to me to be more like a 4200, 4300 or mabe an early
6200 series tractor of low hp i have a 3085 which aint 120
hp i wish it was and the local burgess massey dealership has
a 6140 and it aint got a sloped bonnet, u need to get
researchin a bit more lads!
Re: MF3085 + 6140
the dynamometer says 120 hp on the 3085 a 3095 is 110hp
cause i drive one and i also drive that 6140 so dont try to
tell me im wrong
Re: MF3085 + 6140
there is a turbo on the 3085
Re: MF3085 + 6140
i think Jim has jumped in and started making the wrong
sugestions about this?????
Re: MF3085 + 6140
go and look at that. Dont try to tell me they dont make the
tractor when i drive it and show you a picture of one
Re: MF3085 + 6140
a calm down wunner avin a pot at u
u seem to have proved me wrong wit the 6140 im sorry i never
seen one like that before but i can tell u the one at
burgess has not got a lowered nose like that it must have
been an option
but i know the 3085 aint 120 horses, i have one myself i use
a 3 furrow reversible it will not pull a 4 i have recently
bought a 399 to increase the horse to 110 which will pull a
4 furrow reversible.
its funney cos the 3095 is an upgrade from the 85 with a
larger 354cu engine with 97 horse, the 95 is a later, up
graded tractor to increase hp, it was better cos it had
electronic 3 point linkage unless, like me you have opened
the pump out on yory 85 to around 3200K's it aint 120 hp i
WITH 120HP????????
Re: MF3085 + 6140
it is turboed giving it 120 hp and it ploughs with a four
furrow reversible Rabe Albatros
Re: MF3085 + 6140
an original 3085 from 1992 (ours) is 100 hp, or around that

ours is 111 hp :-P
Re: MF3085 + 6140
3005 Series eg 3085, 3095, series came out in 1992 replacing
the original 3000 series 3080 3090. 3085 = 100hp at
crankshaft non turbo, 3095 =110hp at crankshaft. all 3000,
3005 series have electonic lift control from day 1, and
electronicly controlled Autotronic,4WD, Difflock, Pto. With
Datatronic Optional
Re: MF3085 + 6140
The 3085 could easely be around 120 Hp with turbo. A friend
of mine bought a Claas Quadrant big square baler and a used
3085. He mounted turbo on it, and it pulls the baler with no
problems. In Norway they delievered the 6140 with high
visibility bonnet from the start of 6100 series.
Re: MF3085 + 6140
reading this i think jims not a massey man we have a 3085 and its sitting at 137hp it has a turbo and and has been screw up on the pump we have the paper work there to say that its a 137hp

massey had the sloped bonnet out with the 3000 the 3065 had a sloped bonnet jim should do his home work before he starts talking tractors and hp
