Ford 7810
A 7810 Ford pulling a dumper trailer. In my opinion, this
was one of the best tractors made by Ford.

Re: Ford 7810

Re: Ford 7810
Hey,
We have at our farm a Ford 7840, a good tractor with quite a
bit power. I think the comfort is better than the 10series,
but the 7810 is a very reliable tractor.

Enne wouter er ligt een powerstar in de 7840 die op een heel
aantal punten verschilt van de motor in de 7810, maar heeft
wel de zelfde boring en slag

Re: Ford 7810
I've workrd with a 8340 and a 7840. Great tractors(as long
as they dont give trouble!) The 40 Series was a big upgrade
from the 10 and TW Series-then again there was roughly
5years between the first production of the 7810 and
40Series.I think that the 40Series had everything the 10 and
TW Series lacked-a 'shuttle' gearbox' , power accompanied by
weight, an easier gearshift in the form of SLE, a 40KM
gearbox,a proper passenger seat, and a spacious,operator
friendly cab. Another brillant tractor by Ford!
Unfortunately the SLE didnt take kindly to rough operators
and suffered at the hands of them! Does anybody know the
exact horsepower of the 7810 Ford?

Re: Ford 7810
Hey Peter.

Here in Denmark the Force II models 7810 from 88-89 was a 98
hp (DIN) engine rated, the later Generation III from
89-91/92 was a 100 hp (DIN).
Basicly you are right saying that the 7810 was one of the
best Ford models, and its best proved seeing todays resale
prices and the fact that well kept models, dont spend long
at the dealers ground, which shows how highly people think
of them.

Re: Ford 7810
Hey Peter,
We had a ford 7810. They are rated in Ireland as 108HP. Ours
was definately the worst tractor, as regards towing in the
field, that I have ever driven. But it was v good on the
road and doing lift work in the field. We traded for a
landini mythos 110 last year. Its such an improvement you
wouldn't believe it!

Re: Ford 7810
Hey boy,
Your talking shit. A ford 7810 pulls far better than that
landini mytos 110. I drove one pulling a 18foot redrock
darwing silage and talk about a dead peace of shit. They are
a good buy if your just looking for cheap horses and don't
mind a rattling bag of shit.

Re: Ford 7810
The 7810(gen3)was probably Fords finest tractor. The TW 15
would be nexted the 7000 after that .

Re: Ford 7810
hey peter i agree the 7810 are unreal as far as im concerned
they set the standard for other tractors at the time they
were released, the contractor i work for has a fleet of
ford, new holland (8360), a valtra and john deeres (6800s
and 6810s) out of the whole lot the only ones to remain in
the fleet for a considerable time are the two 7810s while
everything else is replaced. the 7810s were demoted to
lesser duties recently, wraping and swarthing silage and
unfortuntaly one of them was rode off last year when she
rolled down a hill into a drain, sad day :-(

Re: Ford 7810
I used to drive a 7810 force 3 jreg last off them i think
was a good tractor spent many happy hours on it. Even went
to church on it and got my new wife to pose on the front
weights . i had two problems with it one was a reacuring
radiator leak and the other a major rear axle trumpet
housing collasp whilst pulling a 3m mc connell shakarator
with dual rears on last time up the field dropped it in the
ground and bang .Apparently a common prob with some of that
batch of 7810s becauce our then dealer changed it and
claimed off ford and we which we were pleased about . we
swapped it for a 7840 sle special wasnt there when my father
bought it would have gone for the full sle still was a good
tractor though but the 7810 will hold fond memories for me a
brilliant tractor in its class cant beleive ford didnt plan
on making it to start with bet they were glad they changed
thier mind .:-)
