MF 7480 DynaVT
This weekend we had a 7480 on demo !!
Great machine !! And driving it is a peace of cake.
With it's 145 hp it pulled the 5-furrow Kverneland whithout
any problems.

Re: MF 7480 DynaVT
Hey Michel,

I'm also a big fan of the sisu engines, but this one is a
Perkins.

The "light" models (7465 - 7475 - 7480) have 6.0l Perkins
engines.
The big models (7485 - 7490 - 7495) have 6.6l Sisu engines.

Under the cabine, everything is almost the same as with
Fendt, BUT here you have a better engine, easier in handling
and a nice color and look ;-)

Re: MF 7480 DynaVT
U DONT NO HOW LONG I BEEN WAITIN FOR SOMENE TO SAY THAT
PERKINS IS THE BEST TRACTOR ENGINE IN THE WORLD
BUT 1 QUESTION:
whay are the new 6400 an 7400 series so close together ?
whats the difference between a 64 and a 74 with the same
horsepower????????????????

Re: MF 7480 DynaVT
the difference between them is that the 64 hadn't the VARIO
transmission. :-)

Re: MF 7480 DynaVT
o thanks, is that like the fendt's vario transmation?
still think its a bit daft of massey to introduce a whole
new series just for vario transmission

Re: MF 7480 DynaVT
Indeed,
The 6400 has the Dynashift transmission with 4 powershift
steps,
and the 7400 has the stepless DynaVT transmission
(With the 7400, the rear-bridge is from fendt (with
horizontal linkage-help-cilinders), with the 6400, its the
original rearbridge from GIMA (vertical cilinders)like in
other MF's)

Also the 7400 has more things standard like SMS and stuff,
which are options for the 6400

Re: MF 7480 DynaVT
Da country boy, of course it has a perkins, stupid of mine,
I should have known. Also, the 7400 DynaVT series will come
to canada 2nd quarter of 2004, although they will be
available earlier in AGCO orange. The 6400 series will be
here too in original beautifull MF red of course. They will
not sell a MF here as of yet in the 200+ class (actually not
even over 175 hp) with a DynaVT because that would interfere
with Fendt sales they claim (I don't know why, who wants to
drive a fendt if you buy a nicer tractor for less money?)

Re: MF 7480 DynaVT
Yes jim,
Assistor rams, thats what i mean.
And indeed, they are lying horizontal, but it's diffucult to
explain how it works without a picture of it.
Fendt has it since the 700-series, and now, the MF 7400 with
fendt-rear-bridge has it too.
The rams lie over the rear axle and are connected to the
linkage with some kind of triangle (I don't know how to
explain it correctly in english, maybe if somebody else
could?)

Re: MF 7480 DynaVT
Whats the advantage of this type of assister ram.

Re: MF 7480 DynaVT
I have no idea, they work in 2 directions, so you can lift
the rear of the tractor by pushing the linkage down.
But that is also possible with vertical rams.
Maybe it has something to do with having enough space?

Re: MF 7480 DynaVT
For those who asked for this tractor in America, they are
available there as Agco RT-series, and you can choose
between DynaVT or Dynashift transmission (it has different
names there)
But no Perkins or Sisu, in america they are equiped with
Cummins

Re: MF 7480 DynaVT
Hi All,

Only the AGCO tractors hace the cummins. Thank God the
Masseys have the Perkins and SISU engines in them. Don't
like Cummins, they are inferior as far as I am concerned!!

Thanks

Will
