JimF 76150 172 1474 either
This 1474 is one of only four. It`s based somewhere in
Lincolnshire and belongs to a contractor.
Re: 1474
Hey Jim,

thats a nice piece of rare machinery.
I guess this one was based on a tw-25 tractor? with a
smaller engine? Why were there only 4 produced? Was it two
expensive or were this the lasts one build of the 1474
series and then they swapped to the 1884?

Re: 1474
I don`t know why there was only 4 built. Although the age
of them is about the time the company seemed to be changing

Did you say that you were from Holland?
Apparently there has been two 1884s with cranes fitted sold
in a construction machinery sale, in or near Rotterdam. I
would like very much to find more information about them.
From the information I have, one is coming back to the UK.

If you are still trying to build a model 1884, there is a
guy in Yorkshire England that has all the parts to build
one. His name is Brian Holmes and his numbers are UK 01535
642184 or 0771 800 4491.

get the name just right.
Re: 1474
Hey Jim, didn't one of the tractor mags do a feature on this
tractor a few years ago?.....seems the guy also had a
short-nosed 1474 with terra-tyres and blade frame.....think
I've even got scanned pics on the comp. of these.

where was this picture taken?

If only 4 were made we must have had the other three at the
County day.

Re: 1474
Jim, did you mean like this 1?
Someone posted this pic on the antique Cat page a while back
- if this person is reading this hope you don't mind me
pirating the picture:-D

It would be handy for loading big bags of fert or moving
augers around:-)
Re: 1474
nice pic....this 1884 sure could some nice fresh blue

So there were two 1884's sold in holland? Does anyone knows
howmany of these tractors are in holland and how many did
survive throug the years?
And yes Jim, I still intend to build one. I plan to start
building in my Christmas holiday...(this is how we call it
in Holland)..
But it wasn't the plan to buy other parts...just the decals,
the frontweights and maybe some wheelweights..
The rest I'm going to construct from sheet metal (1mm) and
metal axles, iron wire (ow that one is very rough

So if anyone has anymore pics of a 1884 that could be
helpfull...please add them :P.
and maybe when the model succeeds... i might just build one
with a crane of something..but then i need to find a crane

Re: 1474
Richard W,
Yes that looks very much like the one from the description
I`ve had.
I don`t think it`s been in any of the UK tractor journals,
in fact I`m very sure it hasn`t. I never seen an 1884 with a
crane fitted.
Re: 1474
on the right of Richard W's pic. isn't that also a county??

looks to me
Re: 1474
Yes I did hear there was pair for sale .

Richard W,
It looks as if I`ve got your messages crossed. Sorry.

It is the 1474 featured in an article in T&M, also If you
look hard in the 1174 article in an early Classic Tractor
magazine you`ll see it in the background.
The guy that has it, also has a 1474 short nose with a front
blade fitted and the fore mentioned 1174.
Re: 1474
Richard W,
I`ll get the reply right eventually.

The photo was taken by Chris from Bideford at the millenium
tractor event at Newark. So it`s not my photo.

The 4 long nose 1474s are as follows:-

1 in Devon, it`s the one from the first County video that
came from near Holbeach / Spalding area in Lincs.

The one from Ilford in Essex, it was also at the County do.

This one in the photo above.

And the one that`s in Ireland, you may have seen it
advetised in T&m and CT magazine. Apparently last I heard
two bidders were fighting it out between £25,000 and
