Heres one for Richard and Jim. What do you think of the
latest addition? :-D
Re: 1184
Have you just been getting it? It looks a dam nice tractor.
From the back ground, it looks as if the photo was taken
later than the 13th sept.
Gerald, can you remember showing two guys around your own
machinery in the dark on the sat night? Well I was one of
them. The other one of us was the contractor who had a TX64
like yours.
These are his two tractors.
Re: 1184
Hey Gerald, us folks in the south have already finished
ploughing for this year and greased the boards :-P

Looks like a nice piece of kit you've got hold of there

Just got home today....will call you sometime over Christmas
and hopefully get up around Tedburn Santa Maria early in the
New Year.:-)
Re: 1184
Hi folk's.. Can you tell me the difference betveen Country
and Roadless?? To me it look like the same kind of
tractors.. By the way, i did drive a Country 1124 ( I
think) in 75-80.. Bigg tractor when you only are 15 years
old.. ;-)
Re: 1184
Hello Bjarne, I'm guessing you're not from Devon :-)
The main difference between the two tractors is the way they
take the drive to the front axle.
County installs a drive shaft to the rear axle after the
diff [either on 1 side for un-equal sized mfds or both sides
for equal sized mfds]
Roadless installed a sandwich plate between the transmission
and rear axle frame [before the diff] as per this drawing

You should get hold of these books, both detail the history
of both brands very well

County - A pictorial review - Stuart Gibbard: isbn #

Roadless - Stuart Gibbard: isbn # 0-85236-344-3

hope this helps

Re: 1184
Hey RichardW.. Thanks for the answer, it was interresting to
read... No.. I'm from Jutland Denmark (therefor my bad
english hahaha.. :-D Now i know the different between those
traktors, but did Ford make both County and Roadless??? Here
in DK I have never seen a Roadless but some County's..When
did the produktion of thoe brands end, do you know about
that to? Merry X-mas to all.. :-)
Re: 1184
Bjarne, neither tractor was actually produced by Ford Motor
County and Roadless were individual companies who build
'customised' tractors based on a Ford skid unit.

For example in 1976 a U.K. farmer could buy the following
variations of a 78hp Ford tractor

1 - Ford 6600 2wd
2 - Roadless-Ploughmaster 78 - unequal wheeled 4wd
3 - County 6600-four - unequal wheeled 4wd
4 - County 764 - equal wheeled 4wd

hope this helps
Re: 1184
Here are some prices....
Ford 6600 with dual power £5877
Roadless Ploughmaster £7970
County 6600/4 [white cab vers.] £7746
County 764 £8539
Re: 1184
