County 1184
I found this brief report from a 1989 edition of a popular
farming magazine, somewhere in Yorkshire by all accounts

Re: County 1184
I have seen a photo of a 1174 who shows its ability to work
steep slopes before. It's taken in New Zealand, and it's in
the book called "Ford tractor conversions" by Stuart
Gibbard. It's a great book with a lot of interesting
reading. If You don't have it, Buy it now ;-)

Re: County 1184
You have so much interesting stuff on Countys why don't you
set up a website, surely there must be more people like me
would like to see more pictures and facts on countys tractor
history.

If you need more info on websites just ask. I have done a
couple of ones.

Re: County 1184
Hi Paul, most of the interesting stuff I have has been
posted up on this site so would be like the BBC 'repeats'.

But what does everyone else think?....between us could we
make something up?

After some thoughts I reckon we need
1/ Contributors pics
2/ Forum - questions and answers
3/ History overview
4/ A Roadless and MuirHill page, to clear up the
misunderstanding between the two breeds
5/ Events [ploughing matches]
6/ Items for sales - could be anything from a 1164 diesel
tank to a complete tractor
7/ Register for Serial No.s - who's got what?
8/ Build date start and finish and, if poss., how many were
built....as per 1884
9/ Online, downloadable brochures
10/ Links page

This is just a few ideas....come on folks lets have some
feedback :-)

Re: County 1184
DO IT!!!

I will certanly support this idea.
Although I don't own a County, nor a brochure, nor a model.
I'm very very interested in these models.
I love the looks and also the technical aspect of it.

Maybe a part with the technical stuff according to the front
wheel hubs, detailed pics for anyone who wants to build a
scale model of it. ( I soon will start to build a 1884, but
i don't have enough detailed pics and there isn't one near
where i live...)

And maybe you could set up a selling corner where you can
buy the books of Stuart Gibbard and other merchendise
things...

Good luck to y'all!

Re: County 1184
Yes, I`m with that. It`s been talked about befor and we
came to the conclusion that it will need a few contributors
to make it work. So now we have a few, who`s going to start
building it?
Apart from the regulars on this site, there`s about half a
dozen others I could name that will have very usefull
information, but don`t use the internet.

Re: County 1184
I was only thinking of doing the same thing the other day.
There isn't very much info on county's on the net and think
it would be good to get something sorted :-)

I'm in total agreement. Web searches for county yield
nothing. Go for it!!

Re: County 1184
I see a lot of good ideas here!
I don't own a County unfortunatly(no time and money), but i simply love them.

Here's a link to a Dutch County tractor site:
http://www.fordcounty.startje.com/

I know it is in Dutch, but maybe it can give you guy's some ideas to get some sort of setup for a new site.
