Re: County 1884
You may already know that this very 1884 was working at the
Devon event.
There has been talk that this was the very first 1884 ever
made, although this information has been disputed.
One or two people have said that the 1884 on sales broucher
was the first one made as it doesn`t have the front
underneath fuel tank.
What do you think?
Re: County 1884
That was the first 1884 it now belongs to Andy Taylor from
Malmesbury. If you look at the front step it is different
from all the others. Also in all the old adverts there is two
marks in the front sticker, they where still on the tractor
when Andy bought it last spring. In a photo I took of it
before he got at it you could see the TW30 sticker under the
County one.
I think he should have left it Original.
County took it to the Smithfield With cast wheel centres and
mock up front axle no under front diesel tank. Then they took
it back to fleet and finished building it the following
spring. They didn't build any more for eighteen months.
After being County's demo for several years it was sold to a
farmer near Colchester who part exchanged it last spring for
a big Case.
Re: County 1884
I know this one has been posted before, but here's the press
release for it - Dec 1980.
Re: County 1884
Richard I also have that photo in a old Power Farmer mag,
County rushed to get that tractor to Smithfield they had
many enquires but then they could not get the TW30 scidds
from Ford.
