Re: potato trucking
This is a trucking outfit that hauled our potatoes from the
field to the storages, the green truck is a freightliner
with a 500 hp Cummins N14 engine and the red truck is a
Peterbilt with a 525 hp 60's series Detroit. They are both
operated by owner/operators
Re: potato trucking
hey Michel,

how many tonnes do you load on the trailer? about 50tonnes
or so?, pretty long trailers you guys use too i bet theyre
longer than 53'..??

anyways, always nice to see some more potato related pics
from Canada :-)
Re: potato trucking
Huib, no, that's the nice thing about them, they are 48 feet
long and hold about 35 tons. But they look pretty big. Then
your also maxed out for legal weights. In alberta we're
allowed 45.5 tons metric or 100500 lbs max on this axle
configuration (6 axles)There are 53 footers but they only
get used to haul seed into the US. These trailers are
equipped with a fourth (lift) axle. Don't they have potato
trailers in ontario?
