Harvest finished
Our three JD combines 2 CTS's and 1 STS taken when we had
finished harvest 2003 in Cambridgeshire
Re: Harvest finished
Nice picture Fred,

since you have been running CTS and STS side by side in the
same fields, you must have a good view on their relative

Can you tell us more about it?

Regards and thanks
Re: Harvest finished
Hi BNH, the STS had a 30ft header and the 2 CTS's had 25ft
each, the STS was performed better than the CTS's but to
anybody watching us who didn't know of the header size's
they wouldn't see any difference between them as we were
almost able to keep up with the STS but considering the
larger grain tank on the STS you could see the difference
with the amount of times that he emptied his tank in a day
to the amount that we emptied ours, but however we had the
new style New Holland (i think it was the biggest one they
do) on demo for a day and up against the STS it was a better
combine, because behind the NH the losses were almost nil
(it did have a chaff spreader on and we were leaving it in
trails)and behind the STS the losses were a lot more than
our boss wanted but one of the troubles with the STS is that
it was designed for the maize crop in the States so it
appears to be a very leaky combine for our crops overhere in
the UK
