The Renault has a bit more horsepower?
how many HP is the Fiat 1280?

Re: 1280 Hesston 4700
About 130 HP. I think it is a little bit short to power that
baler...

Greetings from France ! ;-)

Re: 1280 Hesston 4700
130hp...yeah it might be on the light side for the baler
the Atles has plenty for the baler, 240Hp..;-)

here a pic with my Deutz TTV1160 in front of the baler.

Re: 1280 Hesston 4700
Wonderful picture ! Have you made any modifications on the
baler ? I have begun to make some small things, like adding
chains, repaint some parts, adding lights, PTO, hydraulics
and electrics... In order to make the most accurate model I
can to fit with my Fiat 1280. I have (re)found the
commercial brochure of this baler. This implement needs a
PTO power of 75 HP. (I'll post here this brochure ASAP) :-D

Re: 1280 Hesston 4700
no i want to keep this implement original since i think they
are a rare piece.

and it only needs 75Hp to run the baler?? thats not a whole
lot, i know contractors in my area run with at least
130-140HP in front of a baler like this, but they run pretty
fast too, some guys run approx. 9m/h with a Case 7130 in
front of it :-D

with 75HP i dont think youre going very fast, probably going
down the field in creeper gear ;-)

Re: 1280 Hesston 4700
You're right. I guess that with a 75 hp PTO tractor, you are
obliged to feed the baler with your hands : It becomes a fix
baler... :-D

Re: 1280 Hesston 4700
i thought so too, b/c 75 PTO hp seems awfully light for a
baler that size, i bet you need at least 130HP to run that
baler.

Re: 1280 Hesston 4700
I think so ! :-D You've told me that you didn't want to
modify your model because it was rare. It isn't the case
here in France for the moment, where you can buy it easyly !
Do you want any adress ? ;-)

Re: 1280 Hesston 4700
oh, you can still buy them in France?
i live in Canada, i moved to Canada with my family 6 years
ago.
i got this model in Holland a number of years ago, and ive
never seen a model of the Heston baler here, so thats the
reason i don't wan't to modify it.

what is the going price for that 4700 Hesston baler model
over there?

Dear Huib, I've bought mine a week ago by internet, on the
following adress :

http://www.minitp.com/v3/default_us.asp

the price for the model is 17.5 EUR

They are serious and fast.

I hope this will help ! :-D
