2004 Onions
Grew onions in 2003 for first time. They did pretty well, so
have planted another crop. 2003 was single row 2004 is
double row. (twice number plants on same amount of field)
Also used raised beds this year. plants are Y-33 and Texas
Super Star both are short day sweet variety's. We will see?

Re: 2004 Onions
Hi Bill,
How many plants per acre are you planted?
The picture above was taken at Ituporanga/SC, the main onion
region of Brazil.

Re: 2004 Onions
Flavio, about 100,000 plants per acre would be close. We
farm with one row equipment, and set the plants by hand. As
we are a small grower. We grow for local markets. We also
grow Chiles.
