Re: 390T
Nice Tractor!! From what I have heard, those 300 series (
now replaced by the 400 series!! ) Are solid as a rock
reliable!! How about the 3000 ( The 3600 series in
particular??) as far as reliability goes??

Thanks

Will

Re: 390T
I know that the early 3000 series had some problems with the
transmission .. almost every old 3000 series I see for sale
here in Norway, have new gearboxes ... The 3600 tractors I
know nothing about, but a friend om mine had a 3125, and he
had several problems with the fuelsystem .. In Norway the
300 series is a popular model, and as far as I know, they
are reliable machines :-)

Re: 390T
We have a 3085 for two years now and has given little
trouble but i think before we had got it the gearbox was
done, when we buying it the said the gearbox had been
upgraded. Very sweet tractor to drive with all electrics
way ahead of its time.

Re: 390T
Hi,
this is my uncle's mf 3080 and he's had it for about 2-3
years now and had no serious promblems with it, it does all
the spraying and a bit of top dressing work and takes part
in cultivation and carting work at summer.

Re: 390T
I think it was the very first of 3000 series that had most
trouble. If i'm not wrong the 3000 series came out for sale
here in Norway in 1988, and I've heard that if you shall by
a used 3000, you hav to buy tractors newer than 1990 or -91,
who had less problems than tractors from the first 2 or 3
years of the model .. I have a friend with a 3085-4 with
turbo, that he use on a claas Quadrant baler, and he have no
problems with it, He also have a -90 3060-4 Turbo with
loader, who have had to get transmission and frontaxle
change, and some electrical problems, but this tractor have
run over 8000 hrs, and many of the hours in rough forrestry
work.
