A Texas Nutria
We travel around our county and neighboring counties
installing Satellite TV and I get to meet and get permission
to take pictures of people's pet's In this case, a Lady has
made pets out of the Nutria (Spanish for Otter)that has came
into Texas. I do not know how many she has, over a hundred
I am sure but she feeds them daily and they will go right up
to her. I, however kept a safe distance even though she
told me they would run away from strangers.

Here is a link that tells about this rodent
Re: A Texas Nutria
I forgot to mention that the pictures were taken in
September 2003 and this is picture of a mother Nutria and
her babies that stay under a old truck that is near the home
of the lady that feeds them. It is a good distance away
from the Tank (small pond) that the Nutria swim in.
