Re: Older farming pictures. From Latvia.
Advert in "The country newspaper", 1989. It says that factory "Sizraņseļmaš" will end the production of heap maker SPT-60 and heap transporter SP-60 in 1989. :( But, instead of those machines in the same year they will start the production of highly productive (lol, it's probably hard for you to imagine what soviet system meant with highly productive :D) forage trailer TP-F-45. Pretty much the same specifications as many other analog trailers. Cheap, effective, less work, blah, blah, blah. Estimated production- 1988- 50, 1989- 300, 1990- 6000, 1991- 15 000 units.

"The country newspaper", June 1989. The same cooperative. Fortschritt E-280, 2x Fortschritt E-281-C. Those machines back then were called simply "the germans". If you think why the lower right corner looks weird, let me explain: I edited this pic a bit, cuz there was somebody's head, with that it would look even more weird!:D

"The country newspaper", June 1989. Ploughmen competition between the specialists-to-be or simply students from different agriculture schools. From left: Setting up the plough attached to MTZ 82, DT-75 + PLN-3-35, 2x MTZ 82 + PLN-3-35. PLN type ploughs are not excellent, stony soils can kill them quickly. PGP's are much better.

Re: Older farming pictures. From Latvia.
This one also must be from "The country newspaper", 1989, I guess. This machine is PPZ-60, a weird soviet invention for forage harvesting. Article was quite long and I understood that this was pretty much like an experiment and only 2 or 10 were ever made. It consists of trailer as a base, the pick-up system and a chopper (or blower), so it could pick grass from swaths, chop it and then blow into trailer. All in one. Construction was very difficult for that time, though. This thing was from late 60's, and repairing it, if something broke, was hard and spare parts were also difficult to get, so these machines would be rather left rusting somewhere. Of course, some years later E-type forage harvesting equipment came in from German Democratic Republic and this became just a history.

Don't know from which magazine this picture was, but it's like an advert, not advert, about the new DON-1500 combines that will be available soon. There are 3 of them in this photo.

This one is from a magazine, don't know which. 1982. People in one cooperative are happy now, because they have their own test bench for german Fortschritt machinery- self-propelled mowers and forage harvesters. Diangnostic, repair and other things. This repair place also serviced the same kind of machines from other nearest places.

Another picture from a magazine. 1982. This guy is a so called "frontliner", the one who is the best in their cooperative (and even region), record breaker in harvesting, etc. Some numbers- in the last season he did 1564 etalonhectares, harvested 340 tons of grain and 2134 tons of grass, which was turned into grass flour. The fist class machine-operator. And that all within age of 24. In this photo he is standing on a fully-equipped T-150K (with air conditioner, that yelllow triangle (I wonder why they put these things there, maybe as a mark or for better visibilty in darkness) and all engine panels on.
