Older farming pictures. From Latvia.
This is where I will upload some older pictures I scanned that are connected to agriculture. These will be from various newspapers, books and magazines from USSR times and also from 90's and early years of 21st century. Some are not the best quality, but I tried my best to digitalize them;)

Enjoy!:)

So, this one is from a special attachment of "Agrotop", a popular Latvian farming magazine, called "Tractors. Farmer's machinery park." It is from 2005. In the left pic there are a couple of T-25A3 tractors which are made in 1996 and two LTZ 55 tractors, also from those years. In the background is 2-PTS-4 887B trailer. Topic of left page's text is history of different tractor's mechanisms- hydraulics, cab, electrical starter etc.

On the right side where are MTZ 82.1 and Fendt 800 demo tractor the title means "The implacable statistics: east vs. west" in connection that we have lots of eastern tractors (russian and belorussian mostly) and small number of western equipment. In that data table you can see the figures for how much registered tractors were in Latvia in 2005, depending on year of manufacture. The very bottom table shows percentage of 0-10, 10-20 and over 20 year old tractors.

Re: Older farming pictures. From Latvia.
This one is from another popular magazine "The Latvia's cattle-breeder and dairy producer", however it lasted only till 2002 when it was replaced by "Agrotop". Article is about a successful famer who had bought new western silage making equipment and makes silage for himself and about 1000 bales per year for others. 28th June 1997.

From left: MTZ 80 + Claas Rollant 46 Roto Cut, MTZ 52 + KUN-0,8 frontloader and custom made backweight, T-150K. 2-PTS-9 trailer in the very background (left).
